There will be 8 locations on Cruise Day and each of them will also tell you which Non-Profit organization you will be helping directly. Youth/Teen Competition
Check in: 1pm-2pm Contest: 2pm-4pm
Youth Prizes:
1st Place Youth - $150 2nd Place Youth - $75
Teen Prizes:
1st Place Teen - $250 2nd Place Teen - $100
Adult Competition
Check in: 3pm-4pm Contest: 4pm-8pm
You must call Kathy if you believe you cannot check in by 4pm!

3rd Place Girls - $250 3rd Place Guys - $250
Cruise Day Finals will be in the East Detroit High School Parking Lot that faces Gratiot. You will be performing on a large mobile stage. Your best chances for beating the “Cruise traffic” will be to come in from the west on 9 mile rd and make a right on LINWOOD ST which runs behind the school. Take Linwood to Couzens St and make a left on Couzens and then another left into the school parking lot behind the school and then walk around to the Gratiot side of the school. (There may be traffic police stationed on Couzens-If they stop you, let them know that you are competing in the contest and they will let you through! There will be tents set up for the audience and for the singers.
Check in is 3-4pm and the contest will start at 4pm. My system will be on the stage and there will a singer’s monitor set about center stage. The judges table will be on the ground in front of the stage. You may sing the same song or choose something different if you like as the judges will be a mix of those you’ve seen and those you haven’t.
Alternates will enter the contest on a “first come first serve” basis.

By competing in the Cruisin' Gratiot Idol competition you agree to the following:
• Cruisin' Gratiot may use photographs of you on the Cruisin' Gratiot website (www.cruisin-gratiot.com) and in print for the purposes of promoting Cruisin' Gratiot and the Cruisin' Gratiot Idol Contest.
• If selected to advance to the Semi-Finals you will be present to compete at the appropriate Semi-Final Round.
• If selected to advance to the Finals you will be present to compete on Cruise Day (June 18, 2011), location to be announced.
• Singers not selected for advancement to the Semi-Finals may compete as many times as they choose at open auditions.
• Each round of Open Auditions may be limited to 30 singers.
• The decision of the Judges is final. |
